Landfill divestiture order upheld
Tervita (formerly CCS Corporation) has lost its appeal from the Competition Tribunal’s decision that its acquisition of the Babkirk hazardous waste site would lead to a substantial prevention in the market for the disposal of hazardous waste in Northeastern British Columbia.
The Federal Court of Appeal’s decision was announced by the Bureau on February 11, 2013, but the public version of the reasons were released recently (and as of this writing are still not on the court’s website).
