Peter Greene delivers Argos Game Ball to Tackle Ovarian Cancer
Peter Greene, Managing Partner of Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP, delivered the game ball at the Toronto Argonauts vs. Montreal Alouettes game at the Rogers Centre on Saturday, October 18. The game was part of the CFL Pink initiative, a league wide campaign to help tackle women’s cancers by partnering with a local cancer charity to raise funds and awareness. Saturday’s game was in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) and Teal was the colour of the day. Proceeds from the 50/50 Draw were donated to OCC and fans were also encouraged to give a small donation in exchange for the game program.
Affleck Greene McMurtry is also a long-standing supporter of Ovarian Cancer Canada. AGM’s team, Legal Tender, has participated in the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope for the past 6 years, raising significant donations to help fund important research, education and awareness programs. The firm is also a major sponsor of Ovarian Cancer Canada’s yearly LOVE HER fashion show and fundraiser.
Known as the ‘silent killer’, ovarian cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer and currently there is no reliable early detection test. Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only national charity dedicated solely to overcoming this deadly disease.
