Christopher J. Somerville, Senior Associate at Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP, wrote an original article for the Summer 2019 issue of The Advocates’ Journal: “Informer privilege and an illustration of illegitimate delay”.
The article explains recent developments in criminal law and longstanding protections for the anonymity of confidential informers. Chris also proposes consequences for when accused persons improperly seek the court’s assistance to identify a confidential informer.
